What Happens on the Call?

Expect a friendly, simple chat. The provider will likely ask:

• Where is the house, and how old is it?
• What is the roof made of now?
• What did you notice, such as leaks, missing shingles or hail marks?
• Has the roof been patched or layered before?
• Is your goal a new roof or a closer look first?

Photos from the ground help. So does a quick peek in the attic. Please skip the ladder. Ask first, climb later.

What Should You Ask a Provider?

Good questions make for good jobs. Try these:

• Are you licensed and insured where I live? Can I see proof?
• Will you give me a written quote with materials and steps listed?
• What happens if you find rotted boards once the old roof is off?
• How do you protect my gutters, yard and landscaping?
• Can you help document storm damage if I file a claim?
• Who will be on my roof, and who do I call with questions?

Older homes deserve an extra question: how will you handle old layers and past repairs?
